4th CTI-CFF Regional Business Forum

The Coral Triangle Regional Business Forum was created by Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF) and other development partners to engage with the private sector in creating innovative business solutions that are both economically profitable and environmentally sustainable.
Coral Triangle Sustainable Marine Tourism Conference
This conference brings state of the art themes and best practices for responsible tourism including private sector leadership, marketing the Coral Triangle as a sustainable marine tourism destination, and sustainable marine tourism for communities. It is expected that more than a hundred industry leaders, eco-tourism practitioners, researchers and prominent speakers will attend this conference.
Coral Triangle Marine Tourism Investment Forum
This activity consists of two important events, Investment in the Coral Triangle and Coral Triangle Travel Mart. This activity is a strategic Buyer-Seller Meetings of government representative of Coral Triangle countries, Industry Associations, Chambers of Commerce and trade promotion bodies. There will be one-to-one meetings between business delegates and interested participants.
Coral Triangle Marine Tourism Expo
There will be exhibitors from the eco-tourism industry including dive operators, resorts, liveaboards, cruises, surfers, airlines, yacht, travel agencies, hotels, restaurants, home stays operators, local governments, and tourism associations.
The 3rd Coral Triangle Regional Business Forum was hosted by the Government of Indonesia on 24-26 March 2013 at the Grand Hyatt, Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia.
Carrying the theme “A Marriage of Profit and Sustainability”, this forum once again provided a venue for business and industry leaders from around the region and other parts of the globe to come together to develop innovative business solutions that are both economically profitable and environmentally sustainable and to help create a thriving and bustling Blue Economy for the Coral Triangle region.
Gunter Pauli from Zero Emission Research Initiatives, who first introduced the Blue Economy concept in 2004, was one of the Keynote Speakers of the event.
The 2nd Coral Triangle Regional Business Forum took place on 10-11 October 2011 at the Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
It aimed to engage business and industry leaders in developing innovative solutions that are both profitable and sustainable for the Coral Triangle region, promote networking and collaboration among the private sector, CTI Member countries, NGOs and international institutions to address green investment opportunities for increased economic growth, catalyse new partnerships between the private and public sectors that foster shared goals for sustainable marine resources, and ensure continuous commitment from key sectors in supporting CTI Member countries’ goals, shared vision and initiative towards achieving sustainable development.
The 1st Coral Triangle Business Summit rewarded participants with opportunities for sectors that rely on marine resources in the region, including sustainable business solutions and financial opportunities for profitable "green" investments.
On 19 to 20 January 2010, the Government of the Philippines and WWF organised an inspirational international business event for the Coral Triangle. The focus: to create exciting opportunities for sustainability as the future of economic health and profit in the region.
